Sabbatical with Pastor Curtis: Day of Rest

So, yesterday was Sunday, a day of rest. We were priveleged to worship with the redeemed people of God at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church here in Suceava, Romania. Pastor Traian Niculescu preached about a righteousness based on human good works verses true righteousness we receive through the perfect good work of Christ whose redemptive work motivates us to do good works through the Spirit's leading. He preached to his congregation in the Romanian language and then preached to us in English. His English is acceptional and was greatly appreciated. We were also joined them in partaking of the true body and blood of Christ in our Lord's Meal. We were blessed to be fed with the gifts of Word and Sacrament.

Our day of rest continued with a family gathering following worship. The extended family of Lorisa and Jesse Bangs and Otilia and Traian Niculescu gathered together at the house we are staying to have lunch and a family get gathering. We felt like part of the family and had a very restful and enjoyable afternoon. Enjoy the pictures from our day of rest.
