In the pictures below, you will see the grave markers of Martin Luther, located under that pulpit where his remains were buried and Phillip Melancthon is buried under the lecturn on the opposite side of the chancel. Statues of famous Protestant religious and political leaders are found throughout the sanctuary. The most photographed site in Wittenberg are the famous 95 Thesis doors that are located on the one side of the church. The event of Martin Lutheran attaching his famous 95 thesis document is considered the act that launched the reformation. This door and the two grave markers can be seen below.
